i also brought my zeiss ikon contina to switzerland. i realized too late that the light meter did not work. and it was an experiment, with old iso 3200 b/w film. this is the same school as in last post.
the walk ended in this quiet courtyard of the école nationale supérieure des beaux-arts. the only sounds were the fountain, and the clappering of random footsteps.
dear friend stina has lived in paris for one year. she equipped us with an audiotour of saint-germain-des-prés. we did not know what to expect, just plugged in the ear-phones and listened.
there we walked, side by side, and a secret world appeared. the french-english voice took us through small passages, narrow streets, secret courtyards. she told us stories about musicians, painters, writers (and their lovers), jazz clubs. she made us entering a gallery, an art café, and old hotel (where oscar wilde died!). it was a magic afternoon, a time travel, a feeling of being just us in the heart of paris.
i bought a few rolls of old colour film that i tried in paris. this was a sunny day, inside and outside palais de tokyo. and on the pretty 'impasse partout'.
i think the images turned out quite nice, but far more grainy than i was expecting. and the scanning of the negatives was not perfect... 'hard but fun' she said in the photo store i go to.
